Naseer Naseem
I graduated from Fayetteville High School in 2014 as a top ten student by GPA, completing 15 AP courses and earning a 34 on the ACT. Since 2013, I have tutored students with ACT scores ranging from 13 to 35, and I’m proud to have helped many surpass my own score.
At the University of Arkansas, I received the prestigious Bodenhamer Fellowship and the Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship. I graduated with an Honors Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology, and a minor in Spanish. I was recognized as a Razorback Classic by the Arkansas Alumni Association, an honor awarded to the top 10 male and top 10 female graduating seniors, commemorating the university’s official mascot change in 1910.
I earned my medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where I was awarded the Class of 1981 and Class of 1995 Alumni Scholarships for academic excellence, leadership, and volunteerism.
Currently, I am a third-year Internal Medicine resident at Tulane University. I have been selected to serve as a Chief Resident for the 2026–2027 academic year and plan to pursue fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology.
In my free time, I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee, photography, and working to improve student-run healthcare clinics at homeless shelters to enhance care for underserved patients.
The University of Arkansas’ Honors College picks 6 incoming freshmen to receive the Bodenhamer Fellowship, funded by the Bodenhamer Foundation. The foundation, created by Lee Bodenhamer (B.S.B.A.’57, M.B.A.’61, both at U of A, and D.B.A.’68, Harvard), established the Bodenhamer Fellowships in 1998. The fellowship is the most prestigious scholarship offered to incoming undergraduates. In the most recent class, the average overall ACT score of the Bodenhamer class was 34.67. When selecting Bodenhamer fellows, the scholarship committee looks at involvement in community services, extracurricular activity, intellectual curiosity, leadership skills, and creativity.
